Our residential dumpster rental is the container most Frederick homeowners call about: a 10, 15 or 20-yard roll-off dropped on the driveway for a garage or basement cleanout, a kitchen or bathroom remodel, a move, or clearing the house of a family member. Household cleanup dumpsters are built for the way a home job actually goes: a few days of filling, a weekend push, then a call to have it hauled. You choose the dates and we place the container where you want it, with boards under the rails if your driveway needs protecting.

Cleanouts are the most common job: basements and garages full of thirty years of boxes, rentals between tenants, and whole-house cleanouts after a move or a death in the family. A 15 or 20-yard container handles most of them in one go.

Remodels are next. A kitchen or bathroom tear-out, old flooring and carpet, plaster and lath from a pre-1941 house downtown or in New Market and Middletown, drywall and trim from a basement finish in Urbana, or a deck coming down all fit a 10 to 20-yard box. The City of Frederick lists construction and demolition waste, including drywall, plaster, brick, concrete and wood, as prohibited for curbside collection, and it no longer runs a city-wide bulk pickup. The towns are similar: Walkersville’s twice-a-year bulk days exclude construction debris, Myersville’s exclude shingles, cabinets and windows, and Emmitsburg’s curbside takes no construction material at all. A roll-off on the driveway is the practical route for anything more than a few bags.

Most residential dumpsters go on the driveway, and neither the City nor the County publishes a rule for a temporary container on your own property that we have found; if you are in a homeowners association, check its rules. The street is different. In the City of Frederick, the City says to contact the Engineering Department’s Traffic Division (301-600-3885) about a dumpster in the street or on the sidewalk. In the unincorporated county, from Urbana to Jefferson and Libertytown, County Code § 1-15-2(B) bars any object in a county road or right-of-way. Furniture, boxes, clothing, toys, carpet, flooring, drywall, lumber, cabinets, fixtures and general junk are all fine. Some things stay out: whole tires (Maryland banned them from landfills in 1991), liquids and hazardous chemicals, paint (which now goes to a PaintCare drop-off), and yard waste mixed in with other debris, which Frederick County keeps out of the landfill’s disposal area.
